FASHION WEEK:MOODBOARD 'N TAKEAWAYS

I'm not one for trends, but there was something about this fall's fashion month that resonated far beyond the usual, sometimes forced breakdown of categorizing a series of looks into definitive styles. You see, while there certainly were noticeable trends, recognizing them wasn't so much a matter of interpretation but rather fueled a more distinct sense of inspiration, synonymous with flipping through a European fashion magazine (I'm partial to The Gentlewoman) or scrolling through a street style photo series.

Perhaps this change in perception can be attributed to significant ends (and beginnings) within the industry; Alexander Wang celebrated the ten year anniversary of his namesake brand, a week or so later finishing off almost three years at Balenciaga, which featured models like actress Zoe Kravitz and longtime muse Lara Stone; Public School designers Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow showed their inaugurative DKNY show as the brand's Creative Directors; Eckhaus Latta finally secured a more definitive spot as a brand to know, scoring a slot on Vogue Runway's (R.I.P. Style.com) online coverage.

What's so special about these ends and beginnings is not necessarily the reactions to the actual events, but the talent that the circumstances inevitably showcased; whether they were starting their first year at a house or showing their final collection, the designers certainly aimed to make a statement, perhaps more so than usual.

So, with that being said, here are some of the best sartorial moments from the season, ebbing and flowing with each other to serve more as a moodboard than anything else.
